MAZEREDO (Peintre) (Sculpteur) Editions Octobre 2017, She exist in the works of Mazeredo, besides a beautiful generosity and a vital energy, an undeniable inclination to the happiness, take a bat of light and fervor. Modular games is the base of simplicity and litheness of the forms of my sculptures. And achievement that took many years of work and experimentations. Nowadays I notice that a modular construction was raised from the crescent need of volume lightness, of dynamise the internal rhythm of each piece. Simplicity is an attitude. The curved rhythms evoke the elements of nature. The most recent work series of Rio de Janeiro sculptor Mazeredo is named “Dialogues” and was started in 2005, the same year in which the artist concluded one of the creative cycles of its career and started another, a new borne of her personal experimentation of new constructive possibilities on the field of sculpture. This new series is an articulation of space-equal modules. The module is a visual sign which schematically represents a mouth. Thus the idea of talking, dialogue and interaction between the art pieces and their immediate surroundings, communication between the art work and the public, the flow between artist and the world. At the same time, the artist perceives the art work as a process of construction: Manual, formal, semiotic and conceptual.Exhibition: “It’s Happening! 50 Years of Public Art in NYC Parks”, anniversary celebration in Central Park on October 21st.
